READINESS
Know what is in the file.
We organize the documents the family already has and identify what appears to be missing or unclear without substituting our judgment for the ARD committee or a lawyer.
Collect
IEP/ARD documents, evaluations, progress, grades, attendance, notices, communications, and relevant work samples.
Map
Create a factual chronology, parent-priority sheet, question list, and unresolved-commitment register.
Attend
When invited, support the parent with notes, prepared questions, clarification requests, and commitment tracking.
Follow
Organize final documents, compare commitments, update the action register, and prepare the next handoff.

Parent-directed participation
Federal IEP-team rules allow parents or agencies to invite other individuals with knowledge or special expertise regarding the child. The inviting party determines that knowledge or expertise.
